Welcome to Omics Enterprises, LLC, where we ignite curiosity and nurture passion for science among high school and undergraduate students through self-directed, student-centered virtual Omics Academy summer science experiences. The curricular content provides different levels for different students. Our unique 2024 online summer science program delves into the challenging problems of wildlife biology and conservation, focusing on primates and marine mammals. Over the course of six enriching weeks, participants embark on an immersive journey, exploring the fascinating lives of gorillas, orangutans, dolphins, and killer whales
Omics Academy empowers participants with an experience tailored to foster in dependent exploration. Through a variety of resources, including peer-reviewed scientific publications, online media content, and reflective activities participants will get a new perspective on issues facing endangered species on our planet. By harnessing the power of cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology to reinforce their understanding of key concepts, participants will develop proficiency using a large language model artificial intelligence tool to accelerate their scientific trajectories this summer.
In our six week program, participants can contemplate conservation challenges and have an opportunity to gain a new appreciation for the unique challenges different species face. Participants will have an opportunity to propose interventions to the problems faced by endangered species. Join the summer science experience and gain familiarity with methods to safeguard our planet's biodiversity. Discover passion for science in Omics Academy, where "Open Minds Inspire Creative Solutions".
Participants are offered the opportunity to participate in the online summer experience in a self-directed manner. Some participants may prefer to dive into all the material while others may choose to explore only specific topics of interest. Explore at your own pace.
Gorillas and orangutans face extinction if conservation programs are not successful. There are two species of gorilla that exist in the wild, the lowland gorilla and the mountain gorilla. Currently approximately 1000 mountain gorillas survive in the wild. Among the three species of orangutans in existence today, one is endangered and the other two are critically endangered.
Dolphins and killer whales are highly intelligent animals that live in family groups and exhibit complex forms of communication. Explore the novel approaches scientists have developed to not only identify threats to their survival, but also help rescue them when they are in danger.
