Omics Enterprises, LLC was created to enhance high school and undergraduate student interest and performance in science by creating opportunities for students to explore scientific content and real-world scientific problems in lower stress, low pressure environments. All too often students are worried about the quizzes, the midterms and the final exams instead of focusing on developing interest and enthusiasm for scientific ideas, reasoning and applications. Omics Enterprises created "Omics Academy" to provide the scientific framework for creating an environment where high school and undergraduate students can develop a true interest in, and enthusiasm for science.

The founder of Omics Academy has over 20 years of teaching experience at the graduate biomedical level including 18 years in a College of Veterinary Medicine. During that time, the founder spent 5 years as the chair of the student performance committee (a committee that works with students facing academic challenges and helps them them develop solutions to improve). Additionally, the founder has reviewed hundreds of applications for Veterinary School, taught over 1500 veterinary students who have now graduated, and interviewed applicants for veterinary school every year for the past 18 years.Moreover, the founder has participated as a judge in the California State Science Fair numerous times since first doing so 20 years ago. These experiences have contributed to the principles behind Omics Academy, in particular the focus on science, curiosity, animal welfare, wildlife biology, and the focus on endangered species conservation. The founder has developed multiple graduate level student-centered level courses which have enabled students to master complex and challenging scientific concepts.
